June Homecoming Retreat will be Great Vow Zen Monastery’s first in-person meditation retreat since March 2020. We will also be offering this retreat online.
After a year of quarantine, how much time did we each really spend at home. This year, many of us have done some deep house cleaning and remodeling but did we also remember to attend to the neglected corners of our bodies, hearts, and minds? Our entire self deserves our full attention and so does everyone and everything we encounter. Wherever we are, our true home is always found here – if we have the courage to look for it. Take time aside for this weekend retreat and cultivate a mind of Welcome, a mind of Presence. Come home to yourself, to your Sangha, and to your monastery!

7:30-9:30 Orientation followed by retreat opening & meditation

7:30 service

2:30 body practice
3:00 Q&A followed by zazen
5:30 dinner
7:00 zazen
9:20 formal tea

Soten Danney Lynch has been practicing meditation intensively since 2006. He practiced and was ordained under Chozen and Hogen Bays, Roshis, at Great Vow Zen Monastery in Clatskanie, OR from 2010-2020. Shinei Sara Monial began practicing meditation intensively in 2007. She practiced under Satya Vayu  of Touching Earth Sangha in Portland, OR from 2007-2012.
