Bringing Meditation to Life – Applied Zen
Meditation is not only something we do seated on a cushion or a chair. It is the way we live our lives. We can learn and practice specific forms of meditation in order to wake up to the reality that spiritual practice and daily life are not two different things.
Claude AnShin Thomas is a fully ordained Zen Buddhist monk in the Soto Zen tradition since 1995. At the age of 17 he had enlisted in the US Army and served in the Vietnam War. Since that time, he has been working to heal the wounds of war—emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Claude AnShin is the guiding teacher at the Magnolia Zen Center in Mary Esther, Florida, and the founder of the Zaltho Foundation, a nonprofit organization that promotes awareness and nonviolence. For more information, visit www.zaltho.org or email info@zaltho.org. The Zaltho Foundation is also on facebook, instagram, and youtube.
This event will take place during our regular Tuesday evening program, in-person at Heart of Wisdom and online.
Dana: AnShin’s life, practice, and teachings are sustained by dana in the mendicant monk tradition. We will be collecting donations at the door and encourage everyone to consider supporting AnShin in this way, with both cash and Venmo as options. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Thank you for your generosity.
